Busting myths and building bonds: inside Modsen’s summer party  

August. Nature and sunshine. Over a hundred smiles around. All united, dressed in Modsen branded t-shirts. And this is your day. The day of your team!  Can you picture it? Welcome to our summer corporate event "Modsen Mythbusters". 

The theme wasn’t chosen by chance. Who better than IT specialists to test hypotheses and experiment with different theories every day? This is exactly how progress is made.  Moreover, our team helps companies rewrite their stories, simultaneously debunking daunting myths about software development. Isn’t this the very essence of what we do at Modsen? 

The corporate event kicked off at 12:00. For some, a bit earlier, for others a bit later, but for everyone — for a long time. The day’s program could easily compete with a full weekend of activities! 

First impressions are often based on appearances, aren’t they? Just look at these people in branded t-shirts — the word TEAM immediately springs to mind. 

Of course, a team is more than just appearances. It’s shared goals and a mission that unite us. The company’s CEO, Gleb Terentiev, opened the event with an inspiring speech, reminding everyone that each team member plays a crucial role in the company’s success. His words were a powerful reminder of the importance of collaboration and mutual support. It’s our unity and shared ambitions that make us stronger.  

“And where are the mythbusters?” you might ask. That’s where it gets really exciting! On a large field, various myth-testing zones were set up. A true amusement park! 

Is it true that a slice of bread always falls butter-side down?  Can you really find a needle in a haystack?  And does it hurt to set your hand on fire? These and many other myths were tested during the day’s mythbusting challenges. 

The most emotional and visually spectacular challenge involved a watermelon. The task was to find out if it’s possible to burst a watermelon using just office rubber bands. We won’t keep you in suspense — you can see the answer in our photos! 

But “Modsen Mythbusters” was not the only activity! Fans of active leisure had the chance to test their skills in laser tag. The players split into teams, armed themselves with laser rifles, and fought for victory, crafting strategies and maneuvring through obstacles. It was an exhilarating spectacle. 

For the challenge enthusiasts, we had prepared an obstacle course in the form of a rope park. Colleagues who took part in this activity shared that the support from those on the ground was the key to their success. With such moral support, overcoming any obstacle becomes truly achievable!   

Of course, there are always those who value socializing above all at corporate events. For them, we created a cozy chill-out zone, complete with a bar, hookah lounge, and board games. By the way, any guesses on who won the football match: the Head of Business Development, Paul, or the Head of .Net, Dmitry? 

The main program of the day concluded with the presentation of a cake in honor of the company’s birthday and a closing speech by the CEO. Everyone received appreciation for their hard work and a dessert, while the longest-serving team members were recognized with special gifts. 

As the day came to a close, it was clear that "Modsen Mythbusters" wasn’t just a playful theme – it perfectly mirrored the way we approach challenges, both in software development and in how we work as a team. Just as we debunked myths and shattered expectations throughout the event, we strive to do the same in our everyday work, continuously pushing boundaries and proving that no obstacle is too great when we tackle it together.   

From breaking watermelons to breaking myths, this day reminded us of the power of collaboration, curiosity, and creativity. At Modsen, we don’t just solve problems – we rewrite the rules. And with every myth busted, we become even more confident in one simple truth: when a team is united by a shared mission, anything is possible.
